9:05 am Open meeting in prayer – Dennis

  • Eric goes over softball schedule – League starts April 28th
  • Need to turn in waivers prior to first game.
  • League fees are $500
  • Have $100 deposit by March 21st. If no deposit by the 21st then the league fees becomes $550
  • Next league meeting on March 21st at 9:00 @ Gospel Hall

Look into assembling a committee to review ides for all star game. Perhaps have a family fun day.

League tournament is first weekend in August. Soccer clubs will be having tournament that weekend but will schedule accordingly around our tournament schedule.

League will cover cost for most the BBQ. Teams will bring chips and cookies.

We will look for a group i.e youth group to run the BBQ and donate some money for their time.

Eric went over some Klein field rules such as speed limit and no pet policy. Also teams must pick up their own trash.

Eric went over 2014 year end financials.

Go over new/clarified rules. Talk about pinch runner rule and if there is a player who wants to play the field but cant run to first.

We will include a Commissioners exemption where the team can ask before the game for the Commissioner to allow an exemption on a case by case basis. The Commissioner will then approve or deny the exemption. The team at its discretion can use the exemption if the player does not want to bat. The team using the exemption must notify the team they are playing prior to first pitch that they will be using such exemption.
Discuss the core of the ball and the new ASA bats. Concern over safety of not using

Discuss signing up for committees. Rules committee, all-star committee, tournament committee, fellowship award.

Talk about All-Star game and making it more of a family fun day. Make it more of a pickup game with focus being more on family fun and picnic.

Talk about umpire clinic held during work party. Idea about charging an extra $50 in league fees for a team who does not send a representative to show up for the work party.
