May 2021 Update

I am sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news, but we have not made as much progress with the County as I had hoped .

  • We were in conversation with the County about entering into a contract to maintain the fields at Twin Rivers in lieu of paying a fee for using them. They laid out some steps we needed to take such as having our league filing with the Secretary of State up to date. They also needed to know that we were insured. The insurance quote came in from the insurance company and that portion was ready to go weeks ago. I had tried numerous times to reach out to the County without any response in order to seek out the next steps and was told this past week that with all those steps completed it would still take 2 months to complete an operating contract. Based on this information from the County there is no way to get a contact completed in time for a season this year.
  • There are a few coaches I know of who have suggested that we still try and have a less formal season and more of an informal fellowship nights where those who want to play can show up to Twin Rivers and play softball. Without a contract in place with the County we cannot guarantee that if anyone else shows up to the fields on a night we are scheduled to play that we would have priority.
  • Some coaches are getting together this Thursday night (May 20th) at 6pm at Twin Rivers to play a scrimmage game and potentially discuss what an informal season would look like.

I am truly sorry that we have not been able to get all the details sorted out in time to have a season but I am open to suggestions and open to hear thoughts and comments.
